Why a custom domain
A company email address belongs to you, not to the provider.
- 01
The address stays
If you change provider, the mailboxes move. The addresses do not change, because the domain belongs to you. Business cards, contracts and customer contacts remain valid.
- 02
The sender is recognisable
An address on the company's domain shows who the message comes from. With SPF, DKIM and DMARC, recipients can verify that it really originates from you.
- 03
You stay in control
When someone leaves, the mailbox stays with the company. You block sign-in, redirect the address or convert the mailbox into a shared one.

Questions about custom domain email
How do I create a company email address on my own domain?
You add the domain in the Conbool portal, set the listed DNS records at your domain provider and create the mailboxes. The portal checks every record and shows when the domain is ready.
Do I have to transfer my domain to Conbool?
No. The domain stays with your current provider. Only the DNS records for email are changed. Your website is not affected.
Do I need a website to use a custom email domain?
No. A registered domain is enough. Email and website are controlled through separate DNS records.
Can I use several domains?
Yes. You can connect several domains in the same portal and assign addresses for each domain.
What does a custom email domain cost?
You pay for the domain itself at your domain provider. A Conbool Mail mailbox costs €1.29 for Kiosk, €2.99 for Plan 1 and €5.49 for Plan 2 per month, net. Aliases, distribution lists and shared mailboxes up to 50 GB are free.
Can we bring our existing email with us?
Yes. Migration in the portal brings over mailboxes from Microsoft 365, from Google Workspace, from any IMAP server and from Outlook data files. The addresses stay the same.
Is an email address on a custom domain GDPR compliant?
The domain alone does not decide that. What matters is how the mailboxes are operated. Conbool Mail stores mailbox content exclusively in data centres in Germany. Your contracting party is Conbool GmbH in Hamburg, and a data processing agreement is part of the contract.
