SwissSign S/MIME
Integration with SwissSign CA for automated S/MIME certificate issuance via SwissSign's PKI infrastructure.
SwissSign S/MIME Integration
Conbool enables direct integration with the SwissSign Certificate Authority (CA) for automated S/MIME certificate issuance. Once configured, S/MIME certificates can be automatically obtained via SwissSign's PKI infrastructure.
Prerequisites
Before configuring the SwissSign integration, the following conditions must be met:
- Billing verified: Your payment information must be on file and confirmed.
- Base configuration complete: The basic S/MIME configuration in Conbool must be set up.
- SecureMail subscription: An active SecureMail subscription is required.
Setup
Step 1: Enable SwissSign Integration
- Navigate to Settings > SwissSign.
- Enable the SwissSign Integration toggle.
Step 2: Enter API Credentials
Enter the following credentials obtained from the SwissSign portal:
| Field | Description |

| Client ID | Your unique client identifier from the SwissSign portal |
| Username | Your API username for the SwissSign interface |
| API Key | Your secret API key for authentication |
Step 3: Save Configuration
- Review all entered credentials.
- Click Save.
- Conbool will validate the connection to the SwissSign API.
How It Works
After successful configuration:
- Conbool can automatically issue S/MIME certificates via SwissSign.
- Certificates are generated and signed through SwissSign's PKI infrastructure.
- Certificate management is handled centrally through the Conbool interface.
- Issued certificates appear in the S/MIME certificate overview.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Connection error | Verify Client ID, Username, and API Key. |
| Certificate not issued | Ensure the SecureMail subscription is active. |
