User Filters
Personal black and whitelists for individual users in MailGuard.
User Filters (Personal Lists)
User filters allow individual users to manage personal black and whitelists for processing their incoming emails. Unlike global MailGuard lists, user filters only apply to the respective user's emails.
Prerequisite
The feature must be enabled by an administrator in the MailGuard settings:
- Allow personal blacklists — Users can block their own senders.
- Allow personal whitelists — Users can exempt their own senders from quarantine.
Navigate to Settings > MailGuard and enable the desired options.
Personal Blacklist
Emails from addresses on the personal blacklist are blocked and deleted — without quarantine and without notification.
- Users can only manage their own entries.
- Administrators can view all personal lists.
- Addresses from the user's own domain cannot be blocked.
Personal Whitelist
Emails from addresses on the personal whitelist bypass quarantine. The full MailGuard analysis (spam score, link checking, attachment filter) is still performed.
Managing User Filters
- Navigate to User Filters in the sidebar menu.
- Select the Blacklist or Whitelist tab.
- Click + to add an email address or domain.
- Save the entry.
Priority Order
- Global lists always take precedence over personal lists.
- Blacklist takes precedence over whitelist.
- MailGuard policies are evaluated independently of lists — whitelists only bypass quarantine, not the analysis.
