DNS Entries - Complete Domain Registration
To finalize your domain registration, you need to add a TXT and SPF record to your DNS server. This ensures that no one can use your domain without owning it.
Example: Adding DNS Entries at Ionos
Using the example of the DNS provider Ionos, DNS entries can be added as follows.
This procedure is similar across most DNS providers:
- Log in to Ionos:
- Sign in to your Ionos account and navigate to the "Domains & SSL" section.
- Select your domain:
- Click on the domain you want to register.
- Edit DNS entries:
- Go to the "DNS Settings" section.
- Click "Add Record" and select the appropriate type (e.g., TXT or SPF).
- Add the entries:
- Copy the values from your Conbool dashboard (TXT and SPF entries) and paste them into the respective fields in Ionos.
- Save your changes.
- Wait for updates:
- It may take up to 24 hours for the changes to take effect globally.
Notes and Tips
- Subdomains included: All subdomains of your registered main domain are automatically covered - no separate registration is required.
- Verify entries: Use the fingerprint button in Conbool to check if the DNS entries were successfully set.
- Avoid errors: Ensure no spaces or special characters are added to the DNS values.
