Geo & Network Filter

Geo and network filter: filter emails by country of origin or IP address.

Geo & Network Filter – White-/Blacklisting and Geo-Blocking

With the Geo & Network Filters, you can granularly control email reception — based on the geographic origin of the sending servers or specific IP addresses.
This allows you to effectively restrict targeted attacks, spam waves, or unwanted communication channels.

Enable Geo Filter

  • Function: Filters incoming emails based on the country of origin of the sending server.
  • Setting:
    • Toggle to the right (blue) → Geo filter active
    • Toggle to the left (gray) → Geo filter disabled

Blocked Countries

  • Function: When the geo filter is active, emails from the selected countries are blocked.
  • Setting:
    • Display: "X selected" → Number of blocked countries
    • Below: Selected countries as tags (e.g., Afghanistan, Albania)
    • Selection via dropdown list

IP Blocklist

  • Function: Blocks emails from specific IP addresses or IP ranges — independent of other filters.
  • Setting:
    • Text field: Enter an IP address or range to block
    • Example: 192.168.1.1

IP Whitelist

  • Function: Defines IP addresses or IP ranges that are always accepted — even if other filters apply.
  • Note: If the whitelist is used exclusively, the system will only accept messages from these IPs.
  • Setting:
    • Text field: Enter an IP address to allow
    • Example: 10.0.0.1

Domain Blocklist

  • Function: Blocks emails from specific sender domains — independent of other filters.
  • Setting:
    • Text field: Enter a domain to block
    • Wildcards are supported (e.g., *.example.com)
    • Example: spam-domain.com
