Manage your subscription, activate modules and update payment information.
Subscription & Billing
Conbool uses a module-based subscription model. Each tenant has its own subscription that determines which modules are available. Billing is managed per tenant and centrally under the billing settings.
Available Modules
Your subscription determines which of the following modules are enabled for your tenant:
- SecureMail: Email encryption and digital signatures with S/MIME and PGP.
- MailGuard: Protection against spam, phishing and malware for incoming and outgoing emails.
- Disclaimer: Automatic email signatures and legal notices for your organization.
You can activate or deactivate individual modules as needed. The active modules are also displayed on the dashboard.
Accessing Billing Settings
- Log in to Conbool and select the desired tenant.
- Navigate to Billing in the side menu (path:
/home/[account]/billing). - You will see an overview of your current subscription, active modules and payment information.
Who Can Manage Billing?
Only users with the billing.manage permission have access to the billing settings. This permission is exclusively reserved for the Owner role. Other roles such as Operator, Member, Analyst, Auditor or Contact cannot view the billing page or make changes.
Viewing the Current Plan
Under Billing you can see at a glance:
- Which modules are currently active.
- The billing period (annual prepayment, 12 months).
- The status of your subscription (active, trial, expired).
- The next renewal date.
Changing or Extending the Subscription
Adding or Removing Modules
- Navigate to Billing.
- Select the modules you want to activate or deactivate.
- Confirm the change.
The adjustment takes effect immediately. For an upgrade, costs are prorated for the remaining billing period.
Switching Plans
If you want to change your entire plan, you can also do this under Billing. Select the desired plan and confirm the switch. Differences in costs are prorated.
Updating Payment Information
Conbool supports payment processing via Stripe. The following payment methods are available:
- Credit card
- SEPA direct debit
To update your payment information:
- Navigate to Billing.
- Click on Change Payment Method.
- Enter the new payment details and confirm.
Stripe processes your payment data securely. Conbool does not store complete credit card numbers or bank details.
30-Day Free Trial
Every new tenant automatically starts with a 30-day free trial. During this time you have full access to all available modules and can try Conbool without obligation. No payment method is required to start the trial.
You will be notified before the trial expires so you can subscribe in time.
What Happens When the Subscription Expires?
If your subscription expires or is not renewed, the following applies:
- Modules are deactivated: SecureMail, MailGuard and Disclaimer will no longer be available. Email processing through these modules will be stopped.
- Configuration is retained: Your settings, domains, groups and certificates remain stored. When you renew your subscription, you can seamlessly continue working.
- Access is restricted: You can still log in and view the tenant, but cannot use any active email security features.
To avoid interruption, renew your subscription in time under Billing.
